Published June 10, 2018
Bloomerang has made some improvements to increase the chances of your emails getting to your constituents’ inboxes. Improved email deliverability leads to greater open rates, and informed constituents leads to engagement!
Bloomerang automatically scans email addresses for every constituent to validate their deliverability – at no additional cost – without any additional effort from you!
- Accounts with bad email addresses are flagged on the profile, so you can easily see if updates need to be made.
- Invalid addresses are skipped when using Bloomerang emailing tools, thereby improving your sending reputation.
- Reports can pull in bad email addresses and bad email reasons all in one place
This is yet another, no-cost service Bloomerang provides to all customers to make building constituent relationships easier.
In case you missed it, last month Bloomerang released its Generosity Score™ – at no additional cost – for every customer.

Thank you for your questions. We are constantly making improvements across the entire bloomerang product. Please visit our Features Portal to see what's planned for the immediate future, as well as our changelog to see what's recently been released. Some of our email templates are more optimized for mobile compatibility than others. We are reviewing additional updates to make the other template styles more mobile friendly. If you have any specific feedback or ideas, please submit them through the portal or email me directly. We would love to hear from you!Jessica Hartnagle
If the email address is mis-labeled as bad, it can be removed by contacting bloomerang support. We are only showing the bad label for primary email addresses. If a primary is marked as "bad", then you change a non-primary address to be the primary, we will scan the new primary address. If you remove the bad address/email address. The flag in the header goes away.Sarah Givens
This is great -- thank you! Wondering if you have any timeline for when you might 1) improve the email editor (so, for example, I don't have to have double spaces with all hard returns), and 2) improve coding so that emails are mobile friendly?Chuck Sheketoff
what do we do if we find an address mis-labeled as bad? is this only looking at primary email address? if we remove a bad address does the flag go away?Steven Shattuck
The bad flag is marked from the scan Bloomerang performs to identify whether or not the email address is bad. Once the user knows the email address is bad, the constituent can be contacted to get a good email address. Bad email addresses should be removed from Bloomerang, as they cannot be used for sending emails to constituents.Bloomerang Support
Absolutely! Clicking the word "Report" in the blog post will take you to the help article. All you have to do is add one additional filter for type=Individual to drill down to just the individuals.Marissa Renaldi
Is there a way we can run a report to find individuals with bad email's easily?Linda
So the flag appears only on bad email address that Bloomerang finds, correct. If we mark one as bad in house, we have no way of noting why we know it's bad - or am I missing something? That would be great if we had that option, too.
