[NEW FEATURE] BCC to Bloomerang
We all know how important it is to track and record every interaction with a current or prospective donor.
If you’re communicating to someone one-on-one through your personal email (Outlook, Gmail, etc.) it can be a pain to copy/paste that conversation into your database (and a real shame if it ever gets lost).
For Bloomerang users, those days are over.
That’s why we’re proud to announce a ridiculously-useful new feature: BCC to Bloomerang!
With BCC to Bloomerang, you can forward or BCC emails from your personal email account to Bloomerang. These emails are added as constituent interactions on the profile of the person you’re emailing! We’ll even include any file attachments that you send.
BCC to Bloomerang is handy for those one-time emails you send to individual constituents. It does not replace the Email feature in Bloomerang, which helps you send mass email to many constituents.
You can see it in action below.
BCC to Bloomerang is ideal for ensuring that future fundraisers at your organization have a complete record of every interaction with a constituent.
Never fumble through another in-person ask meeting because you don’t have all of the information!

Hi Jennie - To see the content of emails in a Bloomerang report, you need to run an "Interaction" report, filtering by the "Channel" as "Mass Email" and adding columns like "Subject" and "Body" to view the email content; however, since BCC'd emails are not typically captured in the "Notes" section, to see meeting notes, you'll need to access the individual constituent's timeline to view any manually added notes associated with the interaction. Please reach out to support@bloomerang.com if you have more questions.Jennie Glazer
How can I run a report to see the content of the emails? Want to understand interactions and we often use bcc as meeting notes. Can't see anything show up in the notes column of the report which is not very helpful.Kristen Hay

Does it matter how many emails you are sending out at one time? Does this work well with mass email communications?Kristen Hay
This should happen within a few minutes.Laura Hartner
Should this happen immediately? How long should it take between forwarding to bcc@bloomerang.me and it showing up on the donors timeline?Brenda Barber
Does the old way still work by including the unique BCC userID in the BCC field?Brenda Barber
Does it matter what email address the message is sent FROM?Jessica Hartnagle
Wayne, thank you for your question! If the constituent's email address is not in Bloomerang, we will send back an email letting you know we couldn't find the constituent and present you with two options: 1. Add the email address to an existing constituent. We will automatically add the BCC'd email to that constituent's timeline. 2. Click a button to create a new constituent, and we will automatically populate the email address on the new constituent's record and add the BCC'd email to the constituent's timeline.Wayne Olson
Just curious, but I assume this only works when the constituent's email is in Bloomerang and is the one used in the email address line (the "to" line, not the bcc line.). It just seems the key to making this work is to have the email address in the database so Bloomerang knows where to point the bcc'd email.
