Key Nonprofit Highlights

Founded by Dr. Amy Shroff, a Massachusetts-based veterinarian, Let’s Save the Strays International serves animals in some of the most underserved places in the world, most recently focusing its efforts on street dogs in Myanmar. Using the TNVR (trap, neuter, vaccinate, return) model for humane population control and rabies prevention, the volunteer-led nonprofit was looking for ways to better connect supporters with a mission thousands of miles away. With Mobile Video Acknowledgements in the Bloomerang mobile app, they turned simple thank-yous into personal moments, bringing donors closer to the field and strengthening relationships at scale. With the help of the Bloomerang Giving Platform, their team has sent over 200 personalized videos, helped raise more than $25,000 at a single event, acquired 35 new recurring donors, and increased YOY contributions by 61%—proving that when supporters feel connected, they give with confidence.

Challenge

Growing a mission without the tools to match

As the mission of Let’s Save the Strays grew, so did the complexity behind it. What started as an individual effort in 2018 quickly evolved into a global nonprofit with expanding programs, volunteers, and donors. “Fundraising and running a nonprofit is a new experience for me,” explained Shroff. “When I started doing this as a self-funded operation, I wasn’t expecting it to grow the way it has.”

But the systems supporting that growth lagged behind. Their old CRM, Network for Good, was causing frustrations with support and scalability. “We were just kind of hitting a wall when it came to getting proper advice because the person that you’re speaking to has to know the product, and their support just did not know the product,” said Shroff.

At the same time, Let’s Save the Strays faced a deeper challenge: telling a complex, global story in a way that resonated with supporters. With work happening thousands of miles away, connection wasn’t guaranteed, it had to be built. As Shroff put it, “Who knows about Myanmar in the United States? For us, it’s about telling that story and helping people to understand why it matters.”

Solution

Turning engagement into impact with Mobile Video Acknowledgements

When Let’s Save the Strays adopted Bloomerang, everything started to click into place. With a giving platform built for purpose, the team gained the clarity, flexibility, and support they needed to grow with confidence, without losing the personal touch that made their mission so powerful. “Bloomerang has been very user-friendly, and they are very receptive if we need anything,” said Shroff. “They’re always right there to help us out.”

Bloomerang helped unify their approach—bringing together donor data tracking, segmentation, communications, and fundraising into one intuitive system: “I love the fact that we can generate real data in real time. It’s easy to segment, and it’s easy to block out and send emails.”

But the real transformation came through connection. Using Mobile Video Acknowledgements in the Bloomerang mobile app, Shroff and her Board have found a simple, human way to bridge the distance between donors and the field. “Pretty much everyone who donates gets a video every month,” she shared. “I think it’s important to have that personal connection. It’s all about relationships, right?”

Whether recording from her kitchen or from the streets of Myanmar, Shroff is bringing donors into the mission to make it tangible, immediate, and real: “I can be on my phone saying, ‘We’re in Myanmar right now’ and everyone can wave. I think that my mission right now is to be the bridge and improve that connection.” Perhaps most importantly, video acknowledgements are easy to complete: “It only takes a few minutes per video, and my outreach coordinator, Dana, and I can get them done between the two of us.”

Results

Improving YOY contributions by 61% with Bloomerang

With Bloomerang in place, Let’s Save the Strays gained momentum through more consistent outreach and personalized donor stewardship. In the first six months after Mobile Video Acknowledgements launched, the organization has sent over 200 video acknowledgements to donors, helping strengthen relationships in a way that felt genuine and immediate.

Their fundraising efforts also became more streamlined and successful. Events ran smoother than ever, including Pours for Paws, a wine tasting evening which raised more than $25,000 and brought in 35 new recurring donors. With Bloomerang supporting both the behind-the-scenes logistics and the donor experience, the team was able to focus less on managing tools and more on building relationships.

That shift showed up in their overall growth. Year-over-year contributions increased by 61% in the year that they brought on Bloomerang, a reflection of better data tracking, stronger storytelling, and more consistent supporter outreach.

Behind every success metric was a deeper sense of confidence. As Shroff shared, “Having a really good CRM will really give you both the confidence and the ability to host a large fundraiser or campaign.” With Bloomerang, Let’s Save the Strays gained the tools and support to scale their mission, strengthen relationships, and continue expanding their impact.
