Using Bloomerang to 8X attendance at annual fundraising Fine Arts Show
Key Nonprofit Highlights
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Napa Valley (BGC) in California transforms lives and empower the future, one child at a time. With Bloomerang, they can easily track donors, organize events, send automated communications, and create reports. These tools enable the organization to build strong donor relationships, fundraise effectively, and support impactful programs like art showcases and STEM initiatives. By providing kids access to professional tools and experiences, their programs don’t just enrich young minds—they inspire creativity, spark career exploration, and uplift the entire Napa Valley community.
Challenge
Other donor management systems didn’t foster donor relationships for fundraising
After using platforms in the past that didn’t fulfill all their needs, Boys & Girls Clubs of Napa Valley knew that relationship-building was a top priority for their next donor management system. “Fostering donor relationships is important, because you never know when the next dollar’s coming through,” explained Travis Morrison, Events and Marketing Coordinator. “It’s always nice to build those relationships with the people who have given in the past.”
Solution
Bloomerang’s Giving Platform made donor management easy
They chose Bloomerang’s integrated Giving Platform because of its flexibility and ease of use, which makes more time for relationships. “I love working with Bloomerang because it feels like it’s built for nonprofits,” said Morrison. “It saves you a lot of time with data entry, automations, and integrations, freeing up time where we can connect with our community and talk to people, instead of just worrying about crunching numbers and entering information.”
With Bloomerang, BGC Napa Valley gained tools to communicate seamlessly with donors and volunteers, track every interaction, and deliver meaningful engagement. Whether it’s through donations, volunteer efforts, or event participation, Bloomerang makes it effortless to respond, nurture, and grow connections. “It’s very simple to respond back to these constituents by automatic emails and text messages,” said Morrison. “Aside from that, it’s very easy to build a report and get the exact information that you need, whether it be donor names, amounts, or dates. You can literally look up anything.”
From the donors’ perspective, the ease of communication through Bloomerang reinforced trust, as messages were clearly identifiable as coming directly from the organization. On the operational side, Bloomerang’s user-friendly interface allowed BGC Napa Valley to focus less on the complexities of messaging and more on building relationships. By streamlining communication, Bloomerang empowered the organization to deepen its community ties and integrate more seamlessly into its outreach efforts.
Results
Nonprofit software that empowers 8X growth in fundraiser attendance
The impact has been extraordinary. Using Bloomerang, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Napa Valley manages event registrations and donation forms for galas, auctions, and art shows. “You can create emails that go directly to the donors to thank them for coming to the event,” said Morrison, “and then invite them to the next one or to check out other programs.”
The Boys & Girls Club of Napa Valley achieved remarkable growth by leveraging a strategic approach: tracking and inviting previous attendees to their Fine Arts Show. And those attendees not only returned but also brought others along, amplifying their reach. “Bloomerang is the anchor in all of these things,” said Amanda Fisher, Director of Philanthropy & Development. “It’s our mouthpiece out to our donors to remind them that their investment is being well-spent.”
BGC Napa Valley used this strategy with great success, seeing a 8X year-over-year growth in attendance at their annual Fine Arts Show! “We had around 50 attendees for the first couple of years,” explained Fisher. “This year, when we moved to Bloomerang and were able to put in more effort, we had 413 attendees. It was a huge bump in growth, plus the exhibit hung in the gallery for a month and was seen by thousands of tourists.”
With Bloomerang, the organization was also freed up to foster connections with key stakeholders, such as the owner of the building where their exhibit was held, who allowed them to host the Fine Arts Show and four weeks of gallery space for free. Their reinvested labor hours also allowed BGC Napa Valley to successfully secure 15 sponsorships for their event for the first time, including one title sponsor, two event sponsors, an innovative Youth Artist Sponsorship that was fulfilled by 12 individuals to support student artists.
“We give the kids canvases to paint on, high-end acrylic paint, the best brushes,” added Morrison. “And at the end of the day, they’re now in a legitimate gallery that most people would dream of. We really mentor these children to grow into whatever they desire.” With Bloomerang, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Napa Valley can continue to build a brighter future—one child, one community, one purpose-driven action at a time.
