[NEW FEATURE] Bloomerang + Mailchimp Integration

Now more than ever, it’s important to stay connected to your supporters. We’re excited to announce that you can now link your Mailchimp account to Bloomerang! This means that your organization’s email marketing mastermind can design and build emails in Mailchimp, and you as the Bloomerang expert can focus on what you do best. You can filter and segment to your heart’s content in Bloomerang. Your “email person” doesn’t need to learn a new system. And Bloomerang will keep track of emails sent to your donors via Mailchimp!

Connecting Mailchimp to Bloomerang

Once you’ve linked your organization’s Mailchimp account via a simple sign-in, you’ll be able to choose which Audience to populate with Bloomerang data. You can choose an audience that doesn’t yet have any contacts, or choose an audience that your organization has been using to communicate with for years. It’s up to you! Your Bloomerang database will only track constituents who are already in your system, so you don’t need to worry about cluttering up your system with any “extra” emails that may be in Mailchimp. We’ll also respect your recipients’ communication preferences via Bloomerang Email Interests and Mailchimp Groups.

Want to personalize the emails you’re sending out of Mailchimp with data from Bloomerang? No problem. Select Bloomerang fields to update existing Mailchimp merge fields, or even create new merge fields via the integration!

Sending Bloomerang data to Mailchimp

Identify which constituents you want to push to Mailchimp using Bloomerang’s email filters.  You can push the constituents from Bloomerang immediately or schedule it to be pushed to Mailchimp in the future. When Bloomerang data is pushed to Mailchimp, contacts will be created in your Audience and will be populated with data in the mapped merge fields, as well as a unique Tag. If a contact already exists in Mailchimp, they will be updated. No need for imports or manual data entry!

Tracking your email campaign’s success in Bloomerang

You’ll send your Mailchimp campaign to everyone with that unique tag (plus additional records if you’d like!). Then, put your feet up, and watch your Bloomerang constituents’ engagement levels increase as they open the Mailchimp email and click links. In addition to automatically creating the Mailchimp Mass Email Interactions on the Bloomerang timelines, you’ll be able to see and report on Mailchimp tracking data on the individual interactions.

Now you no longer have to worry about cluttering up your donor database with email addresses that aren’t donors or prospects, and your “email person” doesn’t have to learn a new system. You can continue to use Bloomerang’s recently updated built-in email editor to send email directly out of your database, but now incorporate your Mailchimp platform as well. Bloomerang makes tracking all aspects of your donors’ electronic communications a breeze!
